Want to install podpress, but wp account is not installed locally?

    I just have been trying to create a video podcast from my free wordpress account. So What I’ve gathered is that I could use podpress to easily integrate podcasting from my dashboard.

    Problem: I am terrible at writing code and following some of these instructions to install everything locally has been very difficult.

    Where I am at at this point:
    1) I downloaded MAMP and created a database

    2) I’ve put wordpress directory files on my mac

    3) I have not completely installed wordpress to my mac because I don’t think I have a root directory. I have a free account through the website and thus the problem lies.

    Do I need a host site to install wordpress locally?
