On my gardening website (in Japanese), there’s a black area at the top of each page containing the names of fixed pages. It’s just below the URL line, and whenever I pass the cursor over this black area, it drops like a curtain and covers the whole page for a couple of seconds. I just want to get rid of this black curtain forever. There must be an easy way, but I have blundered around without finding it. Can anyone help?
Please be specific. I know very little website terminology.

  • Hi there,
from your dashboard, please go through
Appearance -> Customize -> Header Design -> Header Menus : mobile settings, scroll behaviour, search button
    and disable this option:
Topbar menu : Use a default page menu if no menu has been assigned.

    Hope this helps.

    Best reagards,

Rocco, you’re a genius. Thank you so much. It took me a while to find the right box to click on, as some of the titles sound slightly different in Japanese, but I got it.
