    Hey

I am writing this post incase my other isn’t noticed as it was marked as resolved..the issue I am getting is if the user does not enter a last name, the error “LNAME must be provided – Please enter a value’. I would like to change it to ‘Last Name’ but mailchimp saying their merge field must be in capital and from your end something could be done to change the output..

I have contacted Mailchimp and this is what they have said…

“Definitely understand the concern with getting a signup form created and designed as you wish, especially when first launching a site. To set the proper expectations here, the Popup by Supsystic plugin being used is a third party integration. Our ability to provide support for third party integrations is very limited.

Having said that, I’d like to help out in any way that I can here. It appears the developer has chosen to pass the merge tag value directly back inside the error message. We’re unable to change the merge tag value being used on the MailChimp side of things. Merge tags must be all capitals in order for the system to recognize them at the time of a campaign send. We will not be able to change the capitalization of those merge tags. Unfortunately, the only way to “beautify” the error message being presented by the plugin is for the developer to encode some error handling within the plugin. I apologize for the inconvenience that presents with your site and the plugin being used. Reaching out to them again is the best way to move forward with getting the plugin to respond as desired.”

Is there anything you can do to make the merge tag be translated into a field that would suit me for example “Last Name” instead of “LNAME”? Would be nicer for the users to see ‘last name’ instead of a tag field..

    Thanks
    Jas
