    Hi there,

We are new to the plug in so apologies if this is simple. However, we would like the full screen mode to push the users to accept or manually change their settings. However, currently the accept is fine but people aren’t able to disable the cookies. If someone goes to the settings they can’t actually disable this and are therefore unable to use the whole website.

Please could you let me know how to fix this!

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi @energykidz

    Thanks for your question.

Users can reject cookies in the Full Screen mode, all you need to do is to activate the ‘Reject button’, see the settings here:
    https://ps.w.org/gdpr-cookie-compliance/assets/screenshot-11.png?rev=2103343

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

Thank you, just following up, we are looking to customise it a little with the following instructions. Please could you confirm how I go about this?

Overall, what we’re looking for is the following:

    • Full on screen message where the user’s options are to Accept or Go to Settings to amend their preferences.
    • They can then turn off the varying options of cookies that are available.
    • Save this and continue to use the website.
    • Therefore they can only reject the cookies by manually going into the settings section and turning off the cookies.

I have had a look and tried to do this myself however, I’m not familiar with the cookie codes or snippets and I’m struggling to customise any of the display.

Please could you take a look – I hope this all makes sense but let me know if you need any further explanation.

    Hi @energykidz,

Thanks for your comments and apologise for the late reply.

    1. The message used in full-screen banner is editable here:
GDPR Cookie Compliance -> Banner Settings.
You can use the following text:
<p>This website uses cookies, in order to provide you with the best website experience. [setting]Go to Settings[/setting]</p>
Please note, the [setting] short-code will be converted to a button and will be positioned to right.

    2. The Strictly Necessary cookies are always enabled, otherwise we can’t store the user preferences. If you would like to enable the 3rd party and advanced cookies by default, you can find this option here: GDPR Cookie Compliance -> 3rd Party Cookies -> Default status, same for advanced cookies. By this the 3rd party and advanced scripts will be loaded by default, if your visitors clicks to “Accept” button, the preferences will be stored, if they click to “Go to settings” button, they can disable these cookies and save the settings.

    3. See above

    4. This is the default behaviour, you can allow the floating button so the users can easily access the settings screen.

For the script, you have to remove the hardcoded tracking scripts and add to the relevant sections of the plugin. Please watch our video and read our FAQ section for more details.

    Hope this makes sense.
