    What if you export a database with an export plug-in, creating a new database and importing it and then creating a new WP blog at the root?

    just install the WP in the main root folder and not a sub folder. I did that and it works just fine. Of course, that means you won't be using the URL for anything but your blog..

    here is mine done that way

    Yes you can create a standard index page in php or html and link to your blog from it, Then if you add a forum or something else you can link to it also

    This was an answer I received regarding the same problem:

    "Later on when you want to make WordPress available at http://www.diepoort.net just change, in Settings->General, the Blog address (URL) to http://www.diepoort.net and put this index.php file in your web-root folder (it is the same folder that contains the blog folder)

    <?php
    /* Short and sweet */
    define('WP_USE_THEMES', true);
    require('./blog/wp-blog-header.php');
    ?>

    Then update your Permalink structure in Settings->Permalinks."

    okay thank you, but what does this mean ?

    <?php
    /* Short and sweet */
    define('WP_USE_THEMES', true);
    require('./blog/wp-blog-header.php');
    ?>

    Something i have to do ?
