 * I’m a noobie. I setup an Apache server on Windows XP Professional, added mySQL
version 5.1 and PHP version 5.3.3. I can connect to my ‘wordpress’ DB from the
mySQL command line (doesn’t ask for a userID, only password, so I’m assuming ‘
root’ as the login name). I tested the PHP by running php -i at the command prompt.
No errors in the php error log file. Apache server service is running.
 * I go to install wordpress, by running ‘server/wp-admin/install.php’ from Internet
Explorer, but it gives a 500 Internal Server Error.
 * If it’s just not accessing my DB, how do I confirm that the install process (
PHP) can talk to the DB and configure the webserver appropriately?
