[resolved] Wacky Site load issues (7 posts)

So, not sure if this is a CSS issue or what, but thought this would be the best place to check...

This site loads fine in all browsers... that said, something really weird going on.

Go to that site in Chrome. It doesn't load the contents and is blank. Hit refresh, still blank. Hit ENTER in the URL bar (with the site still in there) ... and the contents load FINE. WTF?

THought it might have something to to do with my -650px margin on #container_z, but doesn't seem to matter.

That said, same thing happens in Safari, and sometimes IE.

Can someone please take a look and figure out what's wrong with it before I jump out of the window???? Losing my mind over it.

  2. You've got some garbage characters that are breaking the display. [Invalid] Markup Validation of uchscareers.org - W3C Markup Validator. Scroll down in the validation report to see line numbers and source code.

  3. Site loaded fine for me.

Usually when I see "blank site" issues, it's something deeper at the server level, or my connection sucks and give up early. It's rarely a CSS/HTML problem.

@songdogtech hmm cleaned up the garbage codes. Doesn't seem to make a difference on the site loading though

@Otto - hmm, are you on a mac or pc for chrome? Are you sure you didn't have to refresh to get stuff to load correctly?

thanks for the replies though... thnking it might be my background image cycler.

okay, it's definitely the #container_z that's causing this... Not sure what I can do to fix it. Finding a solution now.

  6. Now it loads in Safari for me, and much faster.

now it's the opposite haha, if you go to the site in safari / chrome, click refresh, it works fine... but if you click 'enter' in URL address the contents go below the fold. So weird.

    Any ideas?
