• we have wordpress installed and recently upgraded to Version 3.0.3 with the simple press forum plugin, version: 4.3.5 installed. We also have W3 Total Cache 0.9.1.3 installed

I posted this in another category but didn’t gt a reply. Then I thought maybe the problem has to do with the W3 Total Cache settings which are at the default settings. We really don’t understand the adjustments so left it at default which did improve load time.

    This is the problem:

When there are new posts in the forum the “New Post” icons don’t always display to alert me to new posts. And when they do display they don’t stay until the new post is read. If I am inactive for an hour or so and come back and refresh the page, the “New Post” icons disappear.

It’s not just me that it happens to.

Is it possible that the cache settings need adjustment and if so which setting?

    Thanks

I’m not sure I understand what’s being described here. So first question, does this happen with W3TC deactivated?

actually it’s easy to understand. If you have W3 activated it’sw serving cached pages to the client so you don’t get the update. You have to disable caching to the forum so the content will be always fresh.
But in this case better you could just deactivate the w3 total cache for good because it’s not needed.

Is there any way to make W3TC to work together with Simple:Press?

I’ve never used this plugin, has anyone contacted the plugin author?
