Just installed the plug-in on a couple sites. Much better than shortstat. FAQ states no cache plug-ins are compatible. I am using W3TC. Any workaround for this? I am getting the “WARNING: a misconfigured…” errors, but only on one out of 4 sites. All 4 have W3TC installed, but are not all using the same config.
I have enabled the .js CDN, and also enabled the DB tables. I also use CloudFlare if that matters.
Where should I begin troubleshooting, or is this just not going to work with W3TC?

EDIT: Just checked – All sites are now getting the error. However data is being collected.

    Thanks.
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Unfortunately SlimStat doesn’t play nice with any caching plugin because of their very “nature” and their purpose. The goal of W3 Total Cache is to avoid the execution of PHP code, and to serve THE SAME static pages to as many users as possible. On the other hand, WP SlimStat needs to execute some PHP (dynamically EVERY TIME a page is accessed) to track that visit, so the two are inherently incompatible.

A workaround is on my todo list, and will be implemented soon 🙂

    Camu.

PS: a vote for my plugin would be a nice way to say thank you.

Camu, thanks for the update. Miraculously, the error is no longer. I am getting stats, but I guess they will be skewed due to this caching issue.

With W3TC it is possible to set certain php functions not to be cached, well at least so I’m told. Would setting the /plugins/wp-slimstat.*php directory to do just this solve the problem?

    Hi Chris,

I am working on implementing this new feature to make WP SlimStat compatible with W3TC and friends. If you want, you can contact me at

Will do. BTW, I wish all plug-in authors had the same “reply” methods as you. Keep it up! Thanks.
