Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » W3 Total Cache makes my site disappear. Help!

  • I installed W3 Total Cache and activated. I used the default settings, and saved. My site completely disappeared except for the yellow background color.

I then returned the settings to none selected and chose and saved them one by one. It seems it’s Minify that causes my site to disappear.

How can this be corrected? What is the benefit of having Minify? What would cause it not to work?

  • Google Scorecard related messages suggest use of this plugin. What does it do? How can I use it without it making my site content disappear?

Is W3 Total Cache reliant on CloudFlare? Is it incompatible with PageSpeed Service? Does CloudFlare have anything to do with the minify aspect?

They need to rework this, because MANY seem to have problems with WP 3.81.
Wouldn’t recommend anyone installing this now.
Also, if you remove it, site speed checkers are going to read the page like you still have it installed. Can’t get rid of the old cache.

    Hi Bolt24

I’m a little confused. Do you mean that W3 Total Cache works least well with WP 3.81?

Are you saying that WP 3.81 can’t be uninstalled once you have W3 Total Cache installed?

I notice that the author of W3 hasn’t answered questions, at least that I could find on his page, since 2009.

It does not go well with 3.8.1. I don’t know how it is working with older TC versions and WP 3.8.1, but I doubt it’s any better.

I wish I could get some answers re the minify thing. This forum doesn’t seem interested in helping some people. I expect I haven’t put my question in acceptably techy terms.

But, since I installed W3 my Google Scorecard ratings have gone up, but that’s mystifying since PageSpeed says my pages aren’t cached, when one of the main things W3 does is cache… all sorts of caches.

I just wish this were a helpful forum.

    I appreciate your responses. !!!!!
