I just installed W3 Total Cache, and TinyMCE stopped working. I can't switch to the visual editor to edit pages or posts. I assumed Minify was the problem, and turned off Minify. Then I cleared the cache, as well as my browser cache, but TinyMCE still wasn't working.

Then I loaded another browser, and TinyMCE still isn't working. I disabled the W3 Total Cache plugin, and TinyMCE still isn't working. That is the only change I've made to my site recently. I re-uploaded a backup of my site, and it is still broken.

And it looks like someone else had a very similar problem with this plugin before:

  2. Do you mean the plugin TinyMCEComments that the post you referenced is about or the WordPress TinyMCE post editor in the admin?

Try re installing WordPress it could be missing some files or another plugin is conflicting with it (Try disabling all plugins). W3 Total Cache doesn't load any additional scripts in admin.

If the question concerns TinyMCEComments using auto Minify with that plugin does not work. If you must use TinyMCEComments try to manually add scripts and styles. General -> Minify Mode: Manual then go to Minify and "add a script" and "Add a stylesheet". Do not add the css, js that the plugin uses.
Easier solution is to use the plugin recommended in the other support thread.

I could not replicate the problem of TinyMCEComments stop working also after deactivating with latest version of W3 Total Cache and the plugin.
So if still an issue can you please submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin because we are unable to duplicate and need to learn more?
