Support » Plugin: Nav Menu Roles » W3 Total Cache and Footer Nav

    I noticed that in my footer nav this plugin uses:

    <style type='text/css'>
    li#menu-item-1820 {display:none;}
    </style></div></div><style type="text/css">
    .rich-content p{
    	margin:0px;
    }

    </style>

    The problem is W3 Total Cache is caching this as a part of the page. So even if one deactivates this plugin the menu item is still hidden. But this only happens in footer nav NOT main nav.

    Just hoping the dev of the plugin could help with this issue as I look through code and ways to exclude footer nave from being cached by W3 Total Cache.

    Nav Menu Roles doesn’t add any CSS. It removes the entire link code from the source. That code must be theme-related.

    You need to ask the W3 author how to avoid caching other menus.

    Sorry about that Helgatheviking, you are 100% correct.. it is W3 doing this!

    You are right your plugin does infact actually remove the menu item entirely which is excellent vs css display none!

    Thanks for a really good plugin, off to figure out how/why W3 is doing this, cant even get the darn thing to purge or drop the cache 🙁
