Without seeing your site I essentially give no feedback on what’s going wrong with it. Can you submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin?
I have removed your plugin because it does not works and I get the following message: “Main menu …..
Skip to primary content ……… Skip to secondary content “.
After removing the plugin, the message disappeared.
My site was also slower with W3 total cache.
wp_starter, w3 total cache is not something that is going to make your site automatically fast just by installing it, however, it will make your site 10x faster if you set everything up.
by default I believe everything is disabled as it should be since you want to make sure you can preview all your changes before pushing anything live.
I have w3 total cache installed and am using cloud front to host images/css/js files and my site went from 10sec load times on google analytics to around 2 seconds! It also increased the page rank of a few of my stories in relation to others!!!
The best part about it is that all the features are integrated into this one plugin. with other cache plugins they only did the cache, then I ended up having to install minify and cdn related plugins after and try to get them all to work together.
It would be more helpful for you to post what sort of things you did to set it up and possibly some configurations.
Either way its your loss if you don’t because you wont find anything else that will make your wordpress blog faster!
On the internet I found several articles about set up w3tc. I’ve tried 3 of them, but the load time of my site on localhost went from 4sec to 10 sec.
Can you explain me how to set up w3tc step by step?
I would be happy to help you set it up on your instance of wordpress. There are a few things that you should do before attempting to install this.
first I would recommend uninstalling anything that you are currently using to cache your blog. uninstall any plugins for minification and any plugin that might sync your files up to a cdn.
After you uninstall those plugins, make sure your instance of wordpress is the latest version and that all your plugins are up-to-date.
Once you have all of that done, I will need to know a little bit more about your install.
First do you have shell access to your server or just basic ftp?
Would you mind giving out your domain publicly to me or if you prefer, you can send it to me privately. being able to see your blog if you have a problem will greatly help me.
I think that with your help I should be able to writeup a nice blogpost as to how to get this all setup.
One final thing, are you interested in using a CDN or just hosting the files on your site?
1. I use neither ftp nor shell, because the website is not yet moved to the server and domainname. It is running on my PC (localhost).
2. I am interested in caching, CDN and other components of w3tc.
3. My WP version is 3.4.1.
4. My plugins have nothing to do with caching and CDN.
Im currently on vacation over the weened and only have internet on my phone. I will provide more detail next week.
What is your setup on your localhost? are you using windows? I don’t have any experience with a windows box at all. Do you have any plans to move this off your desktop?
This is my website and w3tc does not help.
test
W3TC create a file with the name application/octet-stream. If You don’t open the file, you can not see my website.
I’m sorry, but I hate this plugin,
