I am not exactly sure when this started occurring but it’s within the last couple of days so it could be because of 4.3 but i am not sure of it.

Currently, all urls get a string of numbers and letters after them, and I have not been able to find any information on google since it’s kinda hard to search for “?v=”

For example, i go to http://www.earlfoolish.com, but it returns http://www.earlfoolish.com/?v=389e72516ce7 – the address still works, but it feels like something is wrong and I can’t think of what I might have done for this to happen.

I tried deactivating all plugins, apart from woocommerce (I didn’t dare to?), but nothing helped.

What i found when i searched was that the addthis plugin could cause similar problems, but my string looks different, plus I do not have that plugin installed.

    Any help appreciated

Maybe something to do with the Permalinks settings?

I checked the permalinks settings first thing when it started happening, but everything looks like normal. went back and double checked now, and updated them either way because I’ve read that sometimes it helps. but no luck.

for a while i thought that maybe it was some setting on a server level, and not on the wordpress install, but now I see that it’s only in the frontend the string gets added, not in the backend, so it’s clearly not a server/host issue. it’s gotta be a setting or rouge plugin somewhere…..

I found the cause! it’s because of geolocationing while using woocommerce

I had the exact same issue and it drove me insane trying to figure it out. I even restored my database and recreated the wp-content folder. I read this post and changed the geo location setting to not cache pages and it fixed the issue.
