• Hi,

I just decided to change theme on my site seawiik.com to the beautiful Vortex. It seems to be some troubles with it though.

    1. My header banner is not displaying.

    2. When I try to solve it and go to Vortex Options in Apperance I get this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/seawiikc/public_html/wp-content/themes/vortex/lib/functions/core.php on line 22.

    What might be wrong?

    Thank you in advance.

  • I just downloaded Vortex, installed it and I was able to upload a banner and didn’t get any error messages.

If I were you, I would deactivate all plugins, delete the theme and then re-upload it.
It’s very new, so there should be no errors.

Maybe an old plugin is causing havoc or something went awry first time around.

    Hey Christine,

I tried that but it didn’t work. Do I need to say that I’m using the webtool for wordpress on my own domain, I haven’t downloaded anything.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the webtool for WordPress on your domain. Is that something your host provides? If so, perhaps ask them if they can help?

It does sound strange though. WordPress should work the same and be the same regardless of how you’ve installed it or where you’re hosting it, but I could be wrong.

The auto install scripts might use outdated WP.

Line 22 of vortex/0.2/lib/functions/core.php is wp_get_theme() and it’s since WP3.4, but we’ll always need the latest anyway, so make sure it’s the latest.

I’m updating a website that uses a vortex flash ad i’d like to remove. So, where can I delete the script or find the program used to install the banner??

@jaylad – Please start a new thread – this is about Vortex theme not a flash ad.
