• Vladimir – Should I Upgrade to Pro?

I use the Cornerstone editor in the X Theme. It seems that Roles do not apply in Cornerstone editor. Have you encountered this before? Would your Pro version help me?

    Let me explain.

I have a test account in the Contributor role. When I log in to WP, the role performs as expected. HOWEVER, when I launch Cornerstone with the same Contributor User….I am able to EDIT ALL POSTS…even posts from different Users.

Have you seen this behavior before? Do you know of any solutions?

    Hi,

I did not test X Theme with Cornerstone editor. It’s the 1st report about the issue with user permissions and this product. What does their support answer? They should respect WordPress built-in permissions.

Pro version may help though. Content edit access restrictions add-on included into Pro version allows to set additional level of restrictions to a role or user. There is a special option ‘Own data only’. When you turn ON this checkbox even user with ‘edit_others_posts’ can see at the back-end posts list and edit only posts where he is an author.

It will work in case Cornerstone editor uses the WordPress built-in WPQuery API to extract posts list. Restrictions from URE Pro will not be effective, if product works with a database directly.
