Visual Rich Editor not working on Safari (Mac)

  • Is there any reason why the visual editor would not work on a Safari on a Mac?
The editor has been enabled for the user, in the user options.
When I login with the user ID from my windows PC using either Firefox or IE it seems to be fine

  • Older versions of Safari do not fully support the AJAX javascript used by TinyMCE, the rich text editor, and many other web applications. There used to be a FAQ on wp.com that details the issues along with a link but I see it’s been rewritten.

Was supposed to be fixed with the last version of WebKit included with the most recent version of MacOS but I still see threads on the topic over in wp.com.

Do you happen to know which version of Safari would support the editor. Or are there any other solutions?

Safari 3 Public Beta (3.0.3) supports the Visual Editor. Press Shift-Control-V for the extended interface.

NB: This is a beta version of Safari, so hold on to the .dmg file (which contains an uninstaller) in case you want to revert to Safari 2.0.4.

Let me try this. Strangely even IE for Mac doesn’t seem to support the Visual Editor.
