• Yoast SEO has disabled my visual editor. No matter what I do, it won’t work. Because there is no content in the visual editor, yoast is not recognizing any text on the page and giving me a low SEO score. Robots are not finding the info they need and my website now has poor ranking. I have read several other blogs that other people are having the same issue. Terrible. Yoast, you need to fix your product or get it off the market until you do!!!!

  • You do know that the score that this plugin sets is merely an indication based in the info that is provided within the WordPress admin right?
They are merely guidelines… if you have a “red” score, your page could still work good on Google because of other content on your page and other external factors. Or in an other case, if (for example) your theme is written realy poorly and lacks a lot it could be that content wise the SEO indication would be “green” but your page would score terribly on Google.
Again, it’s an indication to help you write good content.

and the content is there in the text editor, but the plugin is making the visual editor not work and therefore the text does not show in visual editor.

That is an enormous problem with this plugin

Not sure if this would be a problem caused by this plugin.
Have you tried disabling other plugins? Do you have any javascript errors?

Yes, I have disabled all other plugins. Also, the company I purchased my theme from also looked in to it and came to the same conclusion, it’s Yoast.

Still strange that you encounter this. I use this plugin on more dan 30 sites and never had this problem. That’s why I still think that its a problem in your installation (theme or a plugin most likely), not this plugin.
If it was in fact this plugin than the 1+ million other users should have this issue aswell right?

There are other users having this problem with your plugin. I have visited several forum sites where people are complaining about it.

It’s not my plugin πŸ˜‰ I just crossed your review while clicking around.

Anyway, there should be errors (most likely javascript I guess). Got any of those popping up?

Hey @pdomenico0990: have you updated recently? Is this still an issue? I vaguely remember us having a bug where this could happen in rare cases, that might have affected you. If not, please reply as well, as we’d like to figure out what’s going wrong.

all plugins have been updated. They were all removed including Yoast and added back in one by one. The visual editor worked fine until yoast was added back in.

    Hey @pdomenico0990,

What visual editor are you using on your website? I’d like to know because we’re working with quite a few of them to improve integration.

    Thanks,
    Taco

The standard visual editor that comes with wordpress

I have just updated to 4.6.1 and I lost my standard visual editor as well. The content appears in the Text tab but the Visual tab pane is blank – I deactivated and then reactivated all my plugins and NGG Gallery and YOAST SEO were causing the problem. I installed an old version of NGG and that is working and I tried using an old version of YOAST but still no luck so I have to leave it deactivated..I activated TwentySixteen theme to make sure it was not a theme issue.. Would like to reactivate YOAST if you can sort this problem out
Interestingly if I click from the Text tab to the Visual tab the content appears but if I edit the content and update the page the content stays as it was – if I edit in the Text pane then it stays after Updating the page
The Black Studio TinyMCE Widget Visual editor is working OK when YOAST plugin is activated

So far I have not received any help or advice from yoast. Best bet is to switch to the all in one SEO plugin.

    Hi @pdomenico0990,

As Jory commented earlier, Yoast SEO comes without personal support. We made that very clear on the plugin page. But that doesn’t mean we do not investigate bugs. In fact, we happily invite you to post your detailed bug report on our GitHub page.

The same invitation stands for @johaines btw. Please do report possible bugs on our GitHub page.

Thank you both for giving us the chance to improve Yoast SEO!
