# visual editor stopped working AGAIN

 * My visual editor stopped working a few months ago when I upgraded. I found a 
   work around with the CKeditor. Now that seems not to work. I deactivated all 
   my new plugins. I also cleared the cache. I have not re-downloaded. The visual
   editor shows up in the body of the blog post. This is new. And the screen is 
   grey and I cannot type in it. However, If I press preview, the text that was 
   already there show up on the page in preview.
 * I do not do code.
 * I took a screenshot but do not know how to attach it. I use mac x. chrome.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress.
