i had the same issue, i disabled the google libraries plugin and that helped. If you don’t use that plugin then reactive all of your plugins and activate them one by one.
I’m having the same problem except I can’t even see anything when I go to text. I don’t see any photos I add to my post, I can’t type a post anymore, I can’t see a tool bar, nothing.
I’m having the same problem today – insert media will not work for me, nor will all the features of Gravity Forms.
Having same sort of problem after updating to 3.9 – no visual editor bar. Pretty much nothing works in visual mode and text mode goofy
1. Deactivate all plugins. Yes… ALL plugins.
2. Switch to the default 2014 theme.
3. Manually empty and refresh your browser cache.
Only after you perform all three steps.. will you see the content editor load properly.
1. You have to deactivate all plugins to rule out possible interference from a plugin.
2. You have to switch to the default theme because… well… we know it works.
3. You have to manually empty your browser cache because the tinymce editor is notorious for holding onto and serving cached files from the server.
Now, after your editor is working properly again… reactivate your theme.
If it continues working… it’s not your theme. Begin reactivating plugins (one at a time) going back to check the editor.
You will eventually find the faulty plugin (or theme) that is preventing the editor from displaying properly.
If you want to dig in, the best way to diagnose would be via your browser and the console. We have some directions here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors
Doing that will help you narrow down WHAT plugin it might be, as well as what it’s missing.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Hey nacame, thanks for pointing that out. I was going to check there next. I will check that first, then follow Josh’s directions.
That worked! Thanks so much guys for all of your help. If anyone else is using the Avada theme, there is a quick fix for this here: http://theme-fusion.com/knowledgebase/wordpress-3-9-shortcodes-button-missing-fix/
Have a great weekend!
Anyone have any other ideas? Tried all this, I think its my theme, Affix. Anyone out there using it? and having issues with the visual composer?
Cliffhilton, please make your own topic as this is for fusion and is resolved.
