The edit/control bar does not appear, etc., this is the error message I get —
TypeError: ‘undefined’ is not an object
Thanks for the help.
This kind of error is usually caused by conflicts with other plugins.
Please try to selectively disable other plugins until it starts to work.
When you find the plugin which causes the problem, please post it here so that we can make further investigation on the issue.
@marco – I am experiencing the same problem using version 1.2 your plugin.
I’m in a WPMU setup, which is apparently the cause (for me anyway). Seems to work on single-site install.
The plugin is compatible with WordPress Networks (WPMU), so probably there is a conflict with another plugin or a theme.
You may also try to selectively disable other plugins.
Im using this widget but I am not having this problem, Im am VERY new to wordpress. The link builder button is not working for me when I highlight the word I want to put the link into and press the little button. I seen the other thread another member posted but it didn’t look like there was a solution to the problem there. Please help.
does it happen only in widgets or even if you try to put a link inside a page / post? It is possible that there is a conflict with another plugin. Please disable selectively the other plugins and try again.
Its actually the visual editor altogether. I tried to disable all the plugins, nothing. I uninstalled re installed, and disabled all widgets nothing.
Please check that the advanced editor is not disabled in your user profile options.
Ok so maybe i wasnt doing it correctly but i tried to enter a link in the text tab of the editor and it worked for me. Thank you. Im not sure why the visual editor link button is not working.
The link button in the visual editor part of your widget still does not work and there is not an option to make a link in the text tab.
@marco – The problem still persists. I have disabled all other plugins (including mu-plugins and network-activated plugins) and reverted to the Twenty Twelve theme, so there is nothing active except Black Studio TinyMCE widget. Accessibility mode is not enabled and the advanced editor is not disabled in my user profile as I can use TinyMCE everywhere else.
here is the error I see in the console:
Uncaught ReferenceError: tinyMCE is not defined
And this is a screenshot of the widget:
Just out of curiosity, have you tried implementing the widget form with
this sounds really strange. Please could you provide an admin access to your site? You can send us the credentials using our contact form.
As for the
wp_editor()question, yes I tried it when it was introduced in WP 3.3, but unfortunately it’s not very useful in this case because the widget editor instances have to be generated on the fly when a user drags a widget on a sidebar and cannot be created at PHP run time.
Sent! Shame about
wp_editor()though. I know what you mean, as I tried to use it for some dynamically generated textareas in a metabox and it didn’t work for the same reason. Forgot about that, but did not forget that working with TinyMCE is a pain.
Thanks for continuing to investigate this for me.
Follow-up for other people having similar issues: the problem was that the advanced editor was disabled in the user profile.
