Visual editor not showing, text whited out

  • The visual editor on a client site suddenly disappeared and the text in the edit pane now has to be highlighted to be seen. If I switch to HTML mode the text is there and if I then switch back to Visual the text shows up but with the HTML tags in place. Very wonky. I have seen endless posts on this dating back to 2008 with no one, clearly defined solution (and none that have yet worked for me). Suggestions? Thanks.

I noticed from the side here that you’re using WP 2.8.5. I would recommend upgraded to the latest release (2.9.2) before proceeding, as it may solve the problem.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, it would beneficial to know which browser (and version of) you’re using, and if the problem also exists in other browsers.

Sorry – good point. The site is actually this one (http://www.magnetismjewelry.com/) and it’s happening in all browsers (IE, Safari, and Firefox).

It looks like you’re using WordPress 3.0-beta1. It would be better to discuss this in the Alpha/Beta forum as it is probably a beta-specific issue.
