Visual Editor, I’ve tried, I think, everything

    Although I see visual and html tabs when editing, I’m not actually getting the visual editor tools, just the html tools.

    I’ve checked that my user account has visual editor enabled. I’ve tried replacing wp-includes and wp-content. I suspect that my host (blacksun.ca) is not doing compression correctly, so I’ve downloaded and enabled testing-tinymce-3.php.

    I’ve cleared the cache many a time. Still no joy. What may I have forgotten?

    I’m willing, despite the security reisk, at this point, to give a guru an admin account to my site: http://www.whomp.ca/bistro, if he/she wants to take a troll behind the scenes.

    … and finally bave given up and put int dave’s fckeditor pluging. Works.

    Well, I consider this issue resolved, BUT… it’s a pretty common problem, from what I’ve seen looking at other people’s issues.

    There should really be a more reliable solution to the problem of the non-working built-in visual editor.

    I’m happy with fckeditor as a drop-in replacement, and recommend it to those who are still struggling with the issue.
