Visual Editor has disappeared after WordPress 3.9 update

I’m using the Enfold theme and I can’t get the visual editor to appear for editing text in the Avia Layout Editor. When I click on a text box, I can see the text in text mode but in visual mode the editor has gone and the text is only visible when I highlight the box – even then it and shows up with html tags in visual mode. I have tried emptying my cache and also disabling plugins. Please help!

Seems to be working in default, just not in avia layout builder for pages and I can’t edit that content in default. I can see insert media but no toolbar across the top…
