# Visual and Text buttons missing

 * Just downloaded self-hosting wordpress 4.3.1. When adding a “new post”, the “
   visual” and “text” buttons are missing, thus limiting major formatting options.
   Any suggestions?

 * Sounds like a JavaScript error. You can see if this is the problem by following
   the guidelines given here:

 * Also, try deactivating all your plugins. One of them could be responsible for
   this.
