    Hello! I’ve been using the Virtue child theme (that has specific code) for three or so years now. A month or so ago, it changed. I don’t know why or how to get it looking the way that I had it.
    Can you please tell me what happened? Now, as of now, I basically need to start all over again with building this website…
    Thank you so much for your help/advice!

  • Hello,

    In the link that you provided, that site is not using the Virtue theme. It appears to be using Revive theme.

    Try going to Appearance> Themes and see what theme is assigned through there.

    Hi, Kevin! I just switched it back to Virtue Child. I was playing with themes earlier, but I prefer Virtue. I just don’t know why it changed and/or what happened!
    Thanks!!

    What kind of changes did you make to the child theme? Does your site function correctly when the parent theme is active?

    -Kevin

    Hi! I didn’t change anything. Something changed it, but I did not. It was just all jumbled up and the fonts, etc were changed. The parent theme does not look the way that it did. But I had some extra coding, etc, to specialize things. I’m just wondering what happened…
    Thank you!!

    Sorry I should’ve been clearer. I meant what kind of coding have you done within the child theme? Can you share your custom functions here so that I can take a look at them?

    -Kevin

    Oh I’m so sorry!! Oh wow… I am not even sure at this point. I created this website 2 or 3 years ago and don’t even recall what I changed, specifically. Mainly fonts and colors. But I don’t remember the specifics. I am so sorry!

    Also, obviously, I am a novice at this! When I created it, I just figured things out somehow and then got a designer to go over what I did just to make sure it all worked good.

    Since you’re not sure what the changes were, I suggest just reverting back to the parent theme. If you run into any issues or your site is lacking something it used to have, let me know and I’ll work with you to find an alternate solution.

    From the looks of this, it seems that something in your child theme is breaking the site, and without knowing what’s been changed, it’s difficult to say what may be causing the issue.

    Here is what is now in the Custom CSS area:

    .footercredits p {
    font-size: 15px;
    font-family: julius sans one;
    text-align: left;
    }

    #topbar-search input[type=text] {
    color: black;
    }
    #topbar-search #searchsubmit {
    color: black;
    }
    #topbar .kad-mobile-nav .form-search :-moz-placeholder {
    color: black;
    }
    #topbar .kad-mobile-nav .form-search ::-webkit-input-placeholder {
    color: black;
    }
    #topbar .kad-mobile-nav .form-search ::-moz-placeholder {
    color: black;
    }
    #topbar .kad-mobile-nav .form-search :-ms-input-placeholder {
    color: black;
    }

    .topbar-widget {
    color: #000000;
    }
    .topbarmenu ul li a {
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }

    .topbarmenu ul li a {
    color: black;
    }

    .topbarmenu ul li a {
    font-size: 16px;
    }

    .topbarmenu ul li a {

    }

    #containerfooter .menu li a {
    font-size: 18px;
    font-family: josefin sans;
    }

    #containerfooter .menu li a {
    background: transparent;
    }

    a:visited {
    color: #33C3ED;
    }

    @media (max-width: 767px){
    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget {
    width: 50%;
    text-align: left;
    }

    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget a {
    float: none;
    display: inline-block;
    }
    }

    @media (max-width: 767px){
    .kad_product {
    float: left;
    width: 50%;
    }
    }

    .woocommerce ul.products li.product .price,
    .woocommerce-page ul.products li.product .price {
    text-align: left;
    color: #000000;
    font-weight: 400;
    font-size: 15px;
    }

    #containerfooter .menu li a {
    max-width: 260px;
    }

    #containerfooter .col-md-1 {
    padding-left: 40px;
    }

    Thank you, Kevin! The category pics are each under each other where I used to have three on two rows. The bottom fonts are now different.
    Should I delete something?
    I hate to start all over, especially b/c I am just guessing at what I’m doing. Ha!

    Hi sleeneys,
    I would suggest deactivating your plugins to test if any are conflicting. Let me know if there’s no change.

    Thank you so much, Hannah! I deactivated and reactivated and there’s no change. I did notice that the child theme is out of date. I have version 2.4.9. Could that be it? I thought that Child themes were good despite updates, etc.
    Thank y’all again for helping!

    Hello! I called my host and they looked at a few things, saw the problem (it was the child theme), and fixed it (they changed it to the parent theme of Virtue). It looks the way I had it, so that is great.
    Thank you so much Kevin and Hannah for your help!!
