Hey,
You just want the background to cover the icons? Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

.flare-vertical {
  width: 55px;
}

Just an fyi, this plugin is out-dated and may not be fully compatible with the latest version of wordpress. I would recommend finding another.
