# Virtual URL Not Working

 * Hi – I am moving a site within the same server.
    The temporary URL has been established,
   but I need to work on the site before the DNS is updated. It was working fine
   on another URL.
 * The weirdest thing is that :
    The admin side is working perfectly, however the
   blog side is displaying the directory listing of the / (root)
 * Working :
    [http://192.192.192.192/~domain9/wp-admin/index.php](http://192.192.192.192/~domain9/wp-admin/index.php)
 * Not working (show directory listing) :
    [http://192.192.192.192/~domain9/](http://192.192.192.192/~domain9/)
 * Any ideas ?!

 * `DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm`
 * to the top of your root WP .htaccess file.

 * Thanks for the quick reply esmi.
    Did not work however. Still displays the directory
   listing. 🙁
 * Soooooo weird that the admin works and the blog does not!?
    Would it matter that
   the Front Page is supposed to display a static page ?

 * It shouldn’t do. Are you using pretty permalinks?

 * No esmi, I am not using the friendly URLs.
    My client is supposed to be live 
   tomorrow AM – perhaps I’ll get the DNS updated and see if that makes a difference.
   Argh.

 * DUH!
 * esmi – thank you so much for your help.
    I went looking for the index file at
   the root – and of course it was not there!
 * Thanks for your time – sorry it was a pebak error! But you put me on the right
   track.
