Hello, Lightbox has worked great for me, running Vimeo and YouTube embedded videos, until the last couple of days. I’ve had several reports of error messages on Vimeo videos. My own testing has shown mixed results, working on desktop Chrome and Safari as well as mobile Safari, but not on desktop Firefox or mobile Chrome.

Has anything changed in the last few days?
    Thanks for your help!
    Peter

Hi Peter, nothing has changed in the plugin since the last update. Do you have a cache plugin installed?

Purging the cache on my site appears to have done the trick. Thanks for your response!

Hello, I thought we had solved this but regrettably, I’m still seeing some error messages.

I did have a cache plugin running on some of the site. I purged the cache, then made sure that all pages with the Lightbox would be excluded from cacheing.

Still seeing some issues, though. It seems odd that this just popped as an issue a week ago. I never had any issues before. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Hi, did you update any of your plugins and or your theme? Did your host make any changes to your server? Did you test different Vimeo videos?

    1) I updated four plugins just before I started getting reports:
    – Yoast SEO (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/)
    – Widgets on Pages (https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-on-pages/)
    – Google Analytics Dashboard (Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP))
    – amr shortcode any widget (https://wordpress.org/plugins/amr-shortcode-any-widget/)

    2) I have placed a support ticket with my host to determine if anything changed on thir end.

    3) All videos using the WP video lightbox are affected.
    Thanks for your help!

OK, I think it’s resolved (again).
Deactivating the Google Analytics Dashboard seems to have done the trick. I will try reverting to the previous version.
    Thanks again

I am happy to know that you have resolved your issue.

    Kind regards

@gsimusic it should be fixed on GADWP 5.0.1 which was just released.

@mbrsolution if the final goal of the link is to pop up media in a lightbox, it may be wise to use a data- attribute (eg. data-wpvl=”http://vimeo.com/yyyyy”) and keep href=”#”. This way, you won’t need to change the behavior of the clicked anchors by preventing defaults and getting in possible conflicts with other scripts/plugins. It’s just an idea, i don’t know details on how your plugin works. Anyway, in GADWP is fixed by checking if the defaults are prevented.

    Awesome plugin, congrats!
