• This plugin is a life-saver for those of us who can’t use Jetpack Stats (due to Facebook Instant Articles and AMP). One number seems to be coming from thin air though, when I view “Pages.”

The tables shows Page Title and “Views,” but views does no appear to correspond to Sessions, Pageviews, Unique Pageviews, or Exits. I have verified that the squares above the list match Sessions, but the Views column still evades me.

Screenshot of specific view here: http://imgur.com/xpmhC9L

This is the most important view for our Writers. As currently shown, this view under-reports their stories’ total pageviews by nearly 20%. Interestingly, if I view by “Page Views” I see the correct number of total Pageviews — but I can’t sort by individual Page.

Please advise, no other plugin works as well with custom dimensions as yours but this is a mission critical factor.

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

The table is generated using pageviews as metric and pageTitle as dimension. I’m wondering if the high value of “(not set)” could make that difference. Maybe it’s something on your setups making the pages to be randomly rendered without a Title being set.

Thanks Alin! I was able to recreate the widget results in our main Analytics dashboard. After a *lot* of digging, it turns out that the problem is with Facebook’s Instant Articles system.

Their schema doesn’t include a document.Title, which means Google Analytics has nothing to pull the title of the article from. Therefore it passes (not set).

    Thanks for your help!

Do you think it would be possible to update the widget to include a report that is based on ‘Page’ instead of ‘Page Title’?

I know it isn’t as pretty but in situations like ours it would be more accurate. Like Content Drilldown?

Actually, before using the page title the widget was displaying URIs. I’ve switched to titles because of spam. There were fake pageviews generated by spam which were often triggering false-positives on antiviruses. Instead of explaining to each user that it’s actually spam and there’s nothing wrong with the plugin, I’ve decided to switch to page titles, which are harmless.
