Viewing a WP/Atahualpa site on a mobile device

I’ve been using WP self-hosted for three years now and notice that nowadays, many of my hits are from tablets and phones. Is there anything I should be doing to make my blog more readable on a mobile device.

For example, should I go from three columns down to two?

Or should I be providing an alternative view of the site altogether? And if so how would I achieve this.

I searched this forum and didn’t come up with anything particularly relevant.
