# View WordPress posts from a 2009 build?

 * Hi I have backups of several sites I built on WordPress over 10 years ago and
   would like to know if it is possible to view the text from the individual posts?
   I am concerned that if I were to go through the steps to upload to a new WP site,
   the files and structure would be too old. I can view the images in Uploads, but
   I am curious if it is possible to also read the posts? Where are they stored?

 * If you have a full backup of the files and the database, you should be able to
   restore that to a local server and then the version of WordPress will be at the
   same version as when the backup was taken.

    Requires MySQL 4.1.2 or greater PHP version 4.3 or greater.
 * You can have problems running it.
 * You may need to run an old OS distribution (in virtual machine if you like)
    
   or you can even try with newer WordPress, most likely you will get a viable upgrade
   of your database and will be able to see and use your site. Disabling ancient
   plugins and ancient theme – recommended.
