One thing that irks me is the way people seem to want everthing for free.
I remember when I was working on my own sites and maybe for friends, paying $30 for something was unthinkable. I mean, it’s open source, right? And open source is supposed to be free.
But when you work with things for a while, you should start to appreciate the effort that goes into them.
Immagine how long it will take you to get something like the exporter done by yourself.
Then use that number and multiply by the dollar amount you *want* to earn per hour.
You will definately be more expensive than simply shelling out for what amounts to a movie and pizza.
But somehow there is this blockade in a lot of people’s heads.
Anyhow … rant over.
Hope there are more people out there who appreciate the time they save and are willing to support developers make a living.
Thank you for your nice words 🙂 It is indeed a little discouraging to see how people want everything for free. They don’t realize that, unfortunately, even open source developers have the bad habit to eat 😛
