View stats of individual image within gallery (1 post)

I am trying to enable tracking view counts of an individual image within a wordpress gallery through the use of google analytics and awstats.

However, I've found that when I use a gallery view plugin such as Jetpack or Lightbox, only the first image clicked is counted in the stats. I would like a count of both which thumbnails within a gallery are clicked on and which photos are viewed.

For example, if there is a gallery made up of thumbs A, B, C, D - If B is clicked on and then the surfer hits the arrow button then C and D are not counted as viewed with all the gallery plugins I've been looking at.

I've been looking all day and have found a couple instances of people editing the code, but it is beyond what I can do.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Is there any gallery view plugin that is natively compatible with stat counting? Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks very much!
