View PDF file inline

    Hello, we have to buy two add-ons for the WP Customer Area on behalf of our customers, before proceeding with the purchase we would like to know if it is possible to have a preview of the pdf files uploaded in the Area.
    Customers ask us to be able to preview the pdf files they upload in their private area, opening them directly from the browser without having to download them.
    Here are our questions:
    1) We tried to edit some files in the customer-private-files directory but it failed. Is there some code we can add or some way to view the pdf online without downloading it?
    2) By installing the Enhanced files add-on is there the possibility to see the pdf file inline or to open it as a lightbox?
    3) Is this possibility available both from desktop and from mobile?

    Hi,

    We have no particular code to force the browser to view the file instead of downloading it. Keep in mind that this is a browser setting that the user can force to « download » instead of « view » for any file type.

    The enhanced files add-on will allow you to hint the browser to display the file instead of downloading it. This is all we can do.

    Depending on your theme, WP Customer Area can be accessible from mobile too. Viewing PDF files on mobiles will depend on the apps installed on it (talking for Android, I don’t know about Apple)
