Do you mean that you do not see all the buttons on your desktop environment?

    Hi Fried_eggz

    Re http://www.trackbook.co.za/lindywilson2

Apologies for only replying now – been away and only checked back now

Best I describe it from reboot :

    1) I reboot my Dev machine

    2) I go into http://www.trackbook.co.za/lindywilson2 (Browser session 1)
I see ‘View’ and ‘Duplicate’ only

    3) I open another browser session (Browser session 2) and login to my WordPress backend

    4) I go back to Browser session 1 and refresh the screen
I see ‘View’ ‘Edit’ ‘Delete’ and ‘Duplicate’

    5) Bit weird – if I log out of my WordPress backend, leaving Browser session 2 and then go to Session 1 and refresh the page I still get ‘View’ ‘Edit’ ‘Delete’ and ‘Duplicate’ – so all appears to be working.

The issue is that from any other devices other than my Dev machine I can only get ‘View’ and ‘Duplicate’ – I would like my customer to be able to edit and delete entries in the Gravity Forms database that I’m setting up for her on my website. I don’t want to give her my backend login credentials to enable the showing of ‘Edit’ ‘Delete’

I’m pass wording the page where I’ve put the StickyList shortcode so only Lindy will have access to her database

    Thanks

I must just add that I have taken the password off for now to enable debugging of the problem

This must be because when you are logged in you are able to do edit and delete.

If you log in to wp-admin in one tab you will be automatically logged in in all other tabs of the same browser when you refresh them.

Do you need you client to be able to edit and delete even if not logged in?

‘Do you need you client to be able to edit and delete even if not logged in?’

    Yes please ! 🙂

They will access from a page that they had to use a password to get into but from there should be able to edit and delete although not logged in to wp-admin

    Hi Fried_eggz

It seems that you only allow Sticky List EDIT and DELETE functionality when the User has logged into WordPress as Administrator -so they have full access to the backend of my site which is undesirable

Is it possible that you can allow Sticky List EDIT and DELETE functionality in the WordPress EDITOR, AUTHOR CONTRIBUTOR and SUBSCRIBER roles as well ?

I think I can work around that so my client can use the full functionality of Sticky List from her own machine and not compromise my site

    Hi Fried_Eggz

    Are you there ?

I’m really looking forward to using your plugin as everything works as I would want it.

The only issue is that the User has to login to WordPress as an administrator first before being able to use the functionality of EDIT and DELETE. This means I cannot give the Sticky List option to a client because my Site would be compromised. If you have to have a login can you use all the lower levels of WordPress –

Is it possible that you can allow Sticky List EDIT and DELETE functionality in the WordPress EDITOR, AUTHOR CONTRIBUTOR and SUBSCRIBER roles as well ?

    Thanks

Sticky List adds two capabilities that can be used to allow users to edit and delete entries in the list. These are stickylist_edit_entries and stickylist_delete_entries. Users/roles with these capabilities will be able to edit/delete entries in the list.

    Thanks Fried_Eggz

That sounds real promising- can you give me a clue how I would use stickylist_edit_entries and stickylist_delete_entries even if I have to find a local PHP programmer to help me ?

Sorry to be such a Newb – I just don’t understand how to implement this

    Thank you

No problem. You can use a Role Editor Plugin to manage capabilities. Select a role to edit and check stickylist_edit_entries and stickylist_delete_entries for that role.

Just implemented Role Editor Plugin and worked out how to Create a new Role of ‘StickyListEditDelete’ to add to the standard roles of WordPress eg ‘Subscriber’ ‘Editor’ …etc

Within the ‘StickyListEditDelete’ role I added the capabilities of stickylist_edit_entries and stickylist_delete_entries and was then able to use the User Role for my client who can now only access her function of Editing and Deleting ( and viewing and duplicating) Sticky list entries and nothing else in the backend of my site.

I must complement you on such a wonderful plugin that really allows us to ‘swing’ around the Gravity forms database with every functionality one could want. Impressed with the predictive searching of any words and finding the entry I want in no time. Super cool

Thanks for your kind words! If you have time you could give the plugin a short review.
