    View all post by author is redirecting to my home page.

    I do not have any spaces in the user names. It is not generating a 404 error. Inspecting the element shows /author/username as it should. Clicking the link does not take you to the posts by that author but the home page instead.

    I have switched to the default them. Removed permalinks, cleared cache, tried a blank .htaccess file and goofed around with this problem. I have never seen this before on any WP installation I have done for years.

    The site is a Woocommerce site with Appply theme.

    The rest of the site is working perfectly.

    Does anyone have a clue what is causing this issue?

    Ok I made progress. When I de activate WordPress SEO the problem goes away. I will zero in on why that plugin is causing this issue.

    Somehow this got checked. End of story.

    Disable the author archives
    If you’re running a one author blog, the author archive will always look exactly the same as your homepage. And even though you may not link to it, others might, to do you harm. Disabling them here will make sure any link to those archives will be 301 redirected to the homepage.
