Videos not playing

    I am new to wordpress and I am having trouble getting videos to play on my site. After some research I have found that the problem is that the videos are from a provider that is not on the wordpress internal whitelist. I would like to add them to the list of acceptable providers for my site.

    Could anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you,

    Are your running a self-hosted WordPress? If it is so, which version?

    If you are running a blog hosted in wordpress.com, I’m sorry I can’t think in anything to help you. Maybe just putting a link to your video it’s your only option.

    Self hosted wordpress. Hosted by godaddy. I’m using the most recent version of wordpress. I can’t remember the actual number.

    I can’t remember anything about a whitelist for video providers in WP. Are you using a plugin for this? Also, beware of not upgrading your WP core and plugins, it’s known most cracking intrusions lay in lack of proper maintenance of your software.

    There is no WordPress whitelist for video providers. There is however, a list of oEmbed sources that are compatible with WordPress by default.

    However, nothing prevents you from using a plugin to embed any video source you like, or from using an embed code in HTML mode to post a video to your site.
