Hello, I installed the plugin and I was working on changing all the names of the images and videos. The images have been fine, but when I changed the names of the videos uploaded to wordpress natively the video gives an error. Although in the server and in wordpress update the change of url with the new name, when I load the page loads the video with the old url, and obviously does not exist. Here you can see several examples, and attach captures of what is happening.

What can happen? It is quite serious because all videos on the web have stopped working and I would like to find a solution in which I do not have to modify or upload video to video again.

    Thank you,

    Hi,

    Did you check this page?
    https://meowapps.com/media-file-renamer-debug-issues/

Then, have you tried to use the Undo function?

Ok, I’ve done the undo and the video has come back to life. But then, can not the name of the video be modified? Why is this happening?

Normally they can, but how are they used on your website? How do you reference them? I will point to the same link, but this section specifically: https://meowapps.com/media-file-renamer-debug-issues/#My_install_is_broken_how_to_debug

here some more captures. Tell me if you need to see something else.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was looking for. It seems you are using a specific page builder, right? What is it? Most page builders are only supported in the Pro (as they need a lot of extra work and support). If it’s Gutenberg or Classic, it’s definitely supported in the Free.

Hello, it is not Gutenberg or Classic. It is WP Bakery Page Builde included in the UNCODE theme https://themeforest.net/item/uncode-creative-multiuse-wordpress-theme/13373220

My question is, is it normal that it works well with images but fails with videos?

Indeed, WPBakery is only supported in the Pro. The way they embed videos might be different too. So I am not sure why it works for your images right now, maybe you are just adding images directly in the post, but for the videos, a block of WPBakery is used. Not sure, but anyway, it doesn’t work in the Free for sure. The message telling you that you are using a page builder didn’t show up by the way?

Wait sorry, I thought we were talking about Media Cleaner! For Media File Renamer it’s totally different.

Indeed, I don’t think it would work. WPBakery uses encoded data, so it’s impossible for the Renamer to… rename this. But that’s weird they are not using the IDs of the Media entries. Using the filenames directly is a huge mistake. Would be interesting to ask them.

Yes, it’s file renamer. And I use them both in the same way, with a WPBakery module. They will make the images to the videos differently. I do not know how the videos will do but then is there something I can ask them? Or I undo the changes in the videos and leave them as they were?

It would be interesting to ask them, basically: “When I upload and use a video using ***** in WPBakery, is the video reference stored using its Media ID? I am asking because I am using Media File Renamer, and this plugin renames Media files. Would it work?”

His response was: “WPBakery uses ID’s” What can I do then? I undo and leave the names of the videos as they were until now, if there is no way they work?

Then it should be no problem at all to modify the filenames. Your issue was maybe something else, like the cache, or something was not reset.

I do not understand what may be happening. I have no cache plugin, nor an aggressive cache on the server. And I insist, I do not understand why the photos work well and the videos do not. Is there no explanation or something I can co-sign?
