I’m doing embedded videos. Youtube and Vimeo etc won’t work because I want them to be private videos and don’t want to consider paid hosting until and unless I can start making money with my material. Besides, the videos are small (under 10mb each) so local hosting SHOULD work on my server (paid hosting with a non-wordpress company).

The problem is that wordpress keeps rejecting my media. Or rather, it uploads, but then says the file format isn’t supported. It’s 1280×720 25 fps h.264 which, by all accounts, should work. I also tried the FV player plugin with no love. I’ve tried converting and reencoding the vid to mpeg2 and windows avi a few different times with no change. No idea what to do now. It says this:

    > Media error: Format(s) not supported or source(s) not found

    Any ideas?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • EDIT: For feck’s sake… it was the path. When I looked closely at it, it’s not going to the right folder. The problem is that my path structure is different on my server and local system so I need to find a way to point to the videos reliably.

Leaving the post in case others have a similar problem and this helps.
