  • I thought it would be super easy based on the public video set up tutorial. Nope. The payment gateway instrux are outdated. When I finally wasted hours trying to solve it (oh, you have to pay $100 for access to support – and let me tell ya, you’re gonna need it!) So, once I think I’ve got the paypal issue taken care of, I test the pages on my site, and they don’t work. A couple flat don’t exist and a couple link to the wrong thing. Yeah…think I might delete it and try a different option. The video tutorial makes it look a ton easier than it really is. I followed the steps one by one and still can’t get it to work.

    Hi, Amanda,

    Sorry you ran into issues setting up Paid Memberships Pro. These things typically are easy until they are hard. There are a lot of points in a WP setup, gateway selection, hosting configuration/etc where things can go wrong.

    Which payment gateway instructions specifically were out of date? I didn’t find any threads by you here or on our member forums (you have a free membership on our site).

    Feel free to post about your other issues to the forums on WordPress.org if you aren’t willing to pay for our member support.

    We got your email. PayPal did recently update the UI of their dashboard and those videos are out of date. For the past year or so PayPal has allowed existing users to use the old UI and the new UI was being updated regularly. So we’ve been waiting to update our docs until PayPal is done changing things. It’s probably a good time for us to update those videos.
