video transparency

  • Hi

    Hi

I can’t make the videos i embed from youtube transparent. They keep overlapping other things on the site.

I tried httpv:// (added the v) but then it won’t let me resize the video.

when i use the embedding code supplied by youtube it is not transparent.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • are you using iframe, or object embed video?
if it’s iframe add this at the end of http
    ?wmode=transparent (so it’s similar to src=”http://youtube.com/embed/randomcode?wmode=transparent”)

If it’s object add this as param
    <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />

and it’s always helpful if you add link to page with problem when you post a problem. 🙂

    thanks for your reply

i get the following embed code from youtube:

    <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/07KFODyJ9CA?rel=0″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

i then add ?wmode=transparent after the code: 07KFODyJ9CA?rel=0

but when i go to the page and play the video it is still not transparent.

    the site is: http://www.arena-entertainment.co.uk/motorised/broke-fmx/

    any other suggestions?

Sorry, but i don’t see it overlapping anything on the site?i can see that it’s wider than the rest of the videos, but that is not what you wanted.

it overlaps the pictures when they open in the lightbox plugin.

oh, i see what you mean! sorry 🙂
