Hi @calisun,
We haven’t implemented the video support in NextGen Gallery and we don’t have any time estimations for it. Currently, our development team are working hard to implement the PrintLab integration that we really hope to see released this year for NextGen Pro.
I found this How-To while searching the web.
What do you think of this and would you consider implementing this natively in NextGEN Gallery?

Anybody knows if above is a good solution? Does anybody know of a different or better solution?
I too want video gallery function.
Ouch! Well this is a deal-breaker. I was just about to purchase the plugin when I read this. As I am both a professional photographer and videographer, I need both functions. I’ll submit an email to their support–maybe someone will know a work around.
@calisun That snippet of code was written in 2009. Maybe it will work, maybe not. But if NextGen hasn’t implemented this feature in 10 years, I wouldn’t hold your breath…
It would be a huge benefit for NextGEN to support videos in the slideshows and galleries. Please add that functionality soon.
Sincerely,
A Longtime NextGEN Pro Customer
Why would it be difficult for nextgen to support video? Like every browswer already has support for file formats built in. And ffmpeg makes it easy. You already have the gallery built. Just load a open source player inside them…
That shouldnt be hard to code or quality assure.
