    I am concerned about the video option taking up a lot of storage on my wp website and slowing its performance. Are the videos stored in the media library and is there a way to have the files stored somewhere else (like google drive?).

    Yes, if you don’t have good server and space you will face this issue.
    This if good for them who host few video files.
    There is no option to upload in drive and display.

    But you can upload video in youtube, vimeo and post the URL. It will display video on your site.

    There is no automatic option to upload directly to youtube and use link of it.
