Video requieres double touch to play in Mobile Chrome

So in Firefox is alright, desktop as well, but in Google Chrome I have to touch twice for the video to play. Tested using this shortcode in a clean section:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[lyte id="_SQkWbRublY" /]'); ?>
So maybe I need to set the api key?

not related to API key I’m afraid; LYTE works by loading the YouTube video and having it autoplay, but on mobile “autoplay” is not supported, hence click one loads the video and you need click two to have it start playing :/

Oh I see.. and is possible to emulate a second click upon a single click? but I have no idea whether is a good idea or doable or not..

at the time I looked into that issue, it was not possible no. if I find some time I’ll revisit this, but no idea when that will be and -obviously- no guarantees this will ever work :-/

afraid the iframe is already loaded with allow=”autoplay” (see https://github.com/futtta/wp-youtube-lyte/blob/main/lyte/lyte.js#L91).

also; this is a mobile-only autoplay problem and from what I read it are the mobile browsers that refuse to autoplay to protect battery usage. if that is the case, it is unlikely this can be fixed with a simple trick … :-/
