Video podcasts and itunes. Can i use Youtube RSS or do i need to use my libsyn

    Hi

    I use powerpress on danandmatt.com

    I have two video podcasts I want to add to my RSS feed, however I only want to do it if it shows up on iTunes podcast RSS account.

    One video is about 350 mb and one is 170 mb

    They are currently on youtube and i have a feed for the playlist. But i will add them to my http://www.libsyn.com account if i need to.

    Will this work? Or is it just audio that goes to iTunes?

    Also can I have an audio and video option, so people can access the medium they are looking for?

    Typically you do not combine audio and video for a podcast (but you can if you really want to), rather you create two separate feeds, one for audio and one (or more) for video. The feature you will want to look at in PowerPress is called “Podcast Channels”, which allows you to add a channel for each media format.

    Podcast video, just like audio, needs to be hosted somewhere (YouTube is a video echo system, it is not a not media hosting service). You will need to use a service such as Blubrry or libsyn or Amazon Web Services (S3/CloudFront). WE hope you use Blubrry, that way you support the company that maintains PowerPress.
