  • First, I am NOT a WordPress expert, so please be specific with any solutions; but use plain instructions.

I have had this issue come up several times in the past two years. I have been able to fix it each time; that is until now; and am looking for a permanent solution. I don’t know what causes the issue. It sometimes seems to occur without a cause (no updates). I have tried disabling themes and plugins and the issue still occurs.

I have video’s on my website that are self hosted. They can’t be uploaded currently to a third-party service do to current talks over copyright permissions/rights with their owners… I have used the [video] shortcode, and this has worked on many occasions; and has stopped working on just as many more occasions… Currently, all my video’s are showing up with their thumbnail image and a link that say’s “download video”. Sometimes the play video icon will appear briefly before switching to the download video link, and is clickable, but the video will not play.

    The video’s are all flv-formatted video’s.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When I open the error console in chrome I see 649 instances of logger.js:38 [TransmuxingController] > DemuxException: type = CodecUnsupported, info = Flv: Unsupported codec in video frame: 2 from logger.js. No idea what that means, except that Flash video is pretty much an usupported format right now.

Just wonder what happens if you recode on of those videos as an MP4 and use that instead.
