  • I agree. Chrome on my Mac is not showing the video at all. It’s working just fine on Firefox and Opera, but doesn’t work in Safari.

    Help please!

I checked Nexus 5 also can’t view the embedded email, showing black screen in the video area, same problem appear when viewing in iPad/iPad mini

We don’t konw why the video can’t play in Safari or other Apple device. But we try our best to find the reason. Please tell us whether the video dosen’t work in background or in the section, As we know, most of problem is video doesn’t work in background. Please test the video work or not in the section.

Dashboard->apperance->Onetone Options->Home Page->Section->Section Content->code mode copy the code in the bottom of video share->embed code like this

    <iframe width=”420″ height=”315″ src=”//www.youtube.com/embed/xxxxx” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

I have downloaded Safari in my computer, the video play well in my device, but my OS is windows, We don’t have so many kinds of devices,Please help us find the reason.
    Thanks.

Tks for the team that provide a solution that let Safari showing the background video normally, As I dont want to see the youtube video 2nd time, so I make the width & height to 2, if anyone want this theme work but looking exactly same as the demo, you can try this code:

    <iframe width=”2″ height=”2″ src=”//www.youtube.com/embed/xxxxxxxx” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

*But as most of the Android devices / iPhone/ iPad / iPad mini, do NOT have flash player to play your background video embed code, which must need Flash player(I guess you use the old style youtube embed code, like: <object…….), so please fix the code for embed youtube to iframe (just like the one you just suggest.

I’m on Windows 7. The video doesn’t show up at all in IE11. The video plays very choppy in Firefox 29.0.1. the video plays fine in Chrome 34.0.1847.137.

I would like to see this theme work with IE8 to the current version, play smoothly in Firefox 27 and Chrome 32. I’d possibly pay money for this theme then.

Also I noticed that the anchors for the section jumps on the About section don’t jump to the same spot on the page. When you click the About link it jumps down but cuts off the About Us header in that section. But if you scroll past that section and THEN click the About link in the navigation it shows the header of that section.

One last thing: the responsiveness is not smooth when you take the browser bar and drag it to be narrow. The layout gets messed up when going back to full screen from a very narrow window. This probably isn’t a big deal but shows that some of the responsive code is probably not set up correctly.

Thanks pigjoypig for the suggestion – that work around works for me in Safari 🙂

with the last onetone update version (1.1.9) and google chrome last update version (35.0.1916.122) the video is now showed on tablet and smartphone

So has anyone got the video to play on an iPhone / iPad?
I looked thru a BUNCH of themes before deciding on this one and have put some work into it. I really, really like this theme, but if it won’t display the video on those platforms I will have to change.

i removed the section background image on section 1. for me, that does it. i was able to bring back the background video again.

update on the solution i posted; after a while i found out that removing the background image only solve the problem temporarily, and the video will eventually stops playing. so i looked over at it again and decided to change the value of the background video in index.php to :
    $background_video = ‘1’;

and now the video background seems to be showing just fine, i haven’t lost the video just yet.

i will update if the problem persist.

Can anyone assist me? The background video play on all desktops, laptops, however, it does not play on any mobile devices. Thanks. Here is an example: http://www.starzontherize.com/mariakacanda

ANY ASSISTANCE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Also, I know this is basic for some of you gurus, but…how do I remove the arrow that is point down in the center of the screen on the home page?

Video is not working consistently for the theme. I cannot describe a definite method for making it work. It seems more common for it to work in Chrome.

If some direction can be given as to how the video is embedded as HTML5 makes this pretty simple, but with all the layers of WordPress on top, I’m not sure where to go to make sure of cross browser compatibility.

Here’s the site I’m trying to get to work with the WordPress video background header:

    http://www.maxwellstarkhouse.com

Here’s a site I’ve made using HTML5 with video backgrounds that seems to work consistently:

    http://www.jeremiahholder.com

Thank you for any guidance on where to look to get the YouTube embed feature to work with this theme.
