I’m slightly confused about the range of video plugins available. My site is a musician website and I need to do the following:
1. upload videos to post on the blog
2. embed videos from YouTube, etc
For the first point, I can use Revver, and for the second point, something like Smart YouTube or XHTML Video Embed.
My question is, to complete both tasks, do I have to use two separate plugins or is there a single plugin out there that will work? Thanks!
Hi there, personally I find video embed much better, mainly of course because, its not my bandwidth I’m using up.
These two plugins ae excellent.
Why not get yourself a You Tube account and upload your videos and then simply embed with your plugins.
I also find this free video editor very useful to edit videos and can also upload direct to You Tube.
Good luck with the project.
Ps. with video thang a short 5 second ad goes on the end of your video.
Hi Mikey, thanks for the suggestions. Yes, Vipers looks very promising. Can I upload videos locally though?
The reason I want to upload is because I like everything to be in one place. Bandwidth isn’t an issue.
Hi again, as far as I’m aware, yes you can uplosd you own videos, this is in the help section.
Flash Video Files (FLV)
QuickTime (MOV, etc.)
Generic video files (AVI, MPEG, WMV, etc.)
I think you just need to add an absolute link to the location of your video, and it will use the included players, I haven’t tried this yet, the videos I create are too big for my server.
Anyhow I hope you get there, good luck.
