Video Embed Shortcodes No Longer Work

    I used to have an accordion on my site, with a video embedded (via a shortcode) in each section. Now the video embeds don’t work any more, and there is just a string of code displayed where the videos should be.

    Could you tell me why this might be?

    That’s definitely due to the accordion; I have tried different video embedders, none of which work – but all work when I place the shortcode for the video directly in the body of the page itself, not in the accordion…

    Thanks for reaching us. After getting your query we have tested to add video via a shortcode in our local environment. Unfortunately, we found the same issue. We would like to thank you for pointing out the issue.

    We have noted this in our plugin development roadmap. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon and release a new version.

    Thanks for explaining and getting back to me! Any idea when this is likely to be resolved, roughly (ie. might we be waiting weeks, or months, or what)? I have that page for my students to access video resources of what they are learning — which has understandably been more critical than ever, over the past eighteen months or so! — so I would love to get it functional again as soon as possible!

    5 days! That is completely unacceptable. We have a launch scheduled for the day after tomorrow. Please provide a path to downgrade to the previous version of the plugin (i.e., download link for plugin zip file), and confirm whether we can do so without losing all of the MANY accordions with videos we have just spent weeks setting up.

    We have updated the plugin version 2.0.23 today fixing a few issues. Please try updating the latest version and let us know if the issue is fixed.

    If anything, this is actually worse! No only do I still get random code strings when trying to embed a video, but now only the top item of the accordion actually displays!

    As @syzygist mentioned, a direct download link to a .zip of the last known working version of the plugin would be hugely appreciated. If that’s not possible, I may have to look for other solutions to get these pages functional again.

    Thank you. Do I just install that directly over the top of the newer version?

    I’d rather not link to the page I’m struggling with, if that’s OK. That is part of a password-protected area of my site, specifically for my students to access; I try not to give anyone else access to that.

    Please deactivate and delete the newer version. Make sure that you keep this option unchecked, I mean don’t check it. Then you can install the older one.

    And that option will retain all my data, so I don’t have to rewrite all my content again?

    Thank you. I can confirm that I have installed version 2.0.17 and that my students’ site is now functioning again as it should.
